Top Trends at Pitti Uomo 110
We review the best street style trends from the June 2026 edition of Pitti Uomo.
Pitti Uomo is the menswear industry's most anticipated event — a biannual tradeshow in Florence, Italy, where brands, buyers, photographers, and influencers gather to gain insight into the latest advancements in men's fashion, united by a keen interest in menswear and a sharp sense for dressing.
Whether capturing fashion veterans or first-time attendees, street style photographers — including the talented Marc Richardson (@shooting.people), who was on-site to photograph the best looks for us — are there to document the standout styles across all four days. Now that it's all said and done, we're looking back at the top trends of Pitti Uomo 110 and how you too can pull them off this season.
A sport jacket and pair of jeans is a classic combination that offers an irresistible high-low contrast — like eating fast food in formalwear or caviar on a potato chip — and it was one of the most recurring looks across all four days at Pitti Uomo 110.
The combination endures because it works everywhere — smart-casual office environments, weekend brunch, travel, date night, trendy events, drinks and dinner with friends. It pairs two wardrobe staples together in an unexpected yet pleasing way, and at Pitti, where the Florentine sunshine beats down during the day, lightweight warm-weather fabrics like seersucker or linen blends make it just as viable in the heat.
To wear it well, lean into summer styling details — open collars, short sleeves, or bare ankles — to keep the combination feeling seasonally appropriate without sacrificing its inherent polish. The goal is balance: relaxed enough to feel effortless, considered enough to turn heads.
An unconstructed sport jacket features little to no interior canvassing or padding at the chest and shoulders, and is often half-lined or unlined, which makes the jacket much lighter and more breathable — and naturally better suited to casual and smart-casual dressing
Neckwear was a prominent feature in Pitti Uomo 110, with attendees proving there’s nothing to fear about wearing ties, scarves, and “neckerchiefs” in the summer months if styled well and made from the right materials.
Whether they leaned more traditional — like a necktie worn with a suit and shirt — or more casual — like a scarf or bandana tied around the neck in true John Wayne fashion — neckwear featured prominently on those eager to inject personality through colour, pattern, and texture into their Pitti looks.
A traditional smooth silk necktie in a solid colour — especially a dark one — is the most formal expression of neckwear, whereas knit ties, or ties made from linen or cotton blends, are sportier and more casual alternatives better suited to less formal occasions like the office, garden parties, or summer events.
We highlighted stripes as a trend at the start of the season, and apparently, the proof is in the Pitti — stripes seemingly appeared everywhere we looked at Fortezza da Basso, the medieval fortress that always plays host to the biannual event.
Stripes have a natural playfulness about them, and whether they feature on more formal items like tailored suits and sport jackets, or more casual pieces like knitwear, overshirts, or sport shirts, they offer a lightheartedness tailor-made for summer's laid-back attitude.
Balance strong patterns like stripes with solid pieces in neutral colours — like navy, grey, or beige — to avoid clashes and too much visual noise.
Checked patterns — including tartans, madras, glen check, and others — were ubiquitous at Pitti Uomo 110, featuring on everything from shirts to suits to jackets and beyond. While checks have long been embraced by enthusiasts of heritage menswear, this season stood out in particular for its variety of checks in terms of size, scale, and style.
Heritage tailoring continues to influence contemporary menswear, but this season checks are becoming larger, bolder and more expressive than traditional glen checks.
From micro-checks to "exploded" macro checks, and even patchwork combinations of multiple checked patterns sewn into one — simple in colouring or complex, muted or bold — whatever the style of check, we saw them all at Pitti this season. Perhaps a sign that checks deserve more real estate in our wardrobes come next season.
When wearing a checked pattern, keep the rest of your outfit simple — solid pieces in complementary neutral tones like navy, grey, or camel let the check take centre stage without competing for attention.
On summer days when adding layers eludes practicality, accessories offer visual depth and interest to an outfit without further warmth or weight — perfect for the Spring/Summer edition Pitti of Uomo, which can rise up to temperatures in the low 30’s.
Be it a belt, bracelet, hat, bag, watch, or other personal item, accessories are often small yet always significant additions to an outfit. They offer a point of personal expression that clothing alone can't always provide — a way of signalling taste, personality, and attention to detail without saying a word. At Pitti, where the standard of dressing is already exceptionally high, it's often the accessories that separate a good outfit from an unforgettable one.
When building a summer outfit, add accessories with intention — a well-chosen watch, a quality leather belt, or a thoughtfully selected bag can elevate even the simplest combination of pieces into something that feels considered and complete.
Whether your style leans more suited-up or more laid-back, the best street style outfits — from Pitti Uomo or anywhere else — are always those that feel most authentic to their wearer.
