So, you’d like to take your outfit to the next level if you want to take your outfit to the next level? A pocket square is a great way to do so. It’s a versatile accessory that can be worn a variety of ways to a variety of occasions from a wedding to a casual night out, adding a fine detail and often a pop of colour to our outfit. And with neckties being less popular, it's a great way to add some flair to your tailored look. Here are three ways to fold them.

The Pinch And Fold

This is a nonchalant, devil-may-care approach that works well with colourful, patterned pocket squares (but could work for plain white styles as well).

Lay your pocket square flat, then gently pinch from the centre and lift. Now fold it in half, touching the pinched centre to the edges. Now push the pocket square into your jacket pocket with the edges and the centre pointing out.

The Clean & Simple

If you’d like to go for a clean Don Draper sort of vibe – this is the way to go.

First, fold your pocket square in half, then into quarters. Now fold again to width of your jacket pocket. Next fold it in half downward from the centre. Match your fold to the depth of your jacket pocket (while still leaving some fabric sticking out) .  Place into pocket with the centre fold sticking up, hiding the edges.

Twin Peaks (aka a Mountain Range)

Much like the clean and simple but with a touch more flair, the mountain range features two points peeking out of your pocket.

Fold your pocket square in half, then into quarters. Now turn 90 degrees to make a diamond. Find the “show corner” (best looking) and make it the top of your diamond. Flip in half into a triangle, slightly offsetting the tips  Turn the side angles inward, forming your ‘mountain range. Adjust and width to fit into your pocket.
