What we wear over our eyes has just as much (if not more) impact on how we look than any other article of clothing. The phrase ‘furniture for your face’ didn’t come about coincidentally. Therefore, it only makes sense to place careful consideration into which sunglasses we put on — and especially so seeing as we generally own fewer pairs of glasses than most other types of clothing.

To help us make an astute decision, we ask Associate Buyer and eyewear expert Oksana Zyla for her favourite picks from this season’s selection of new arrivals.

Gucci Navigator Frame Sunglasses

“A simple pair of sunglasses are essential to every man’s wardrobe. I like these acetate navigator frames from Gucci , which feature the minimal logo by the temple. The brown lens offers an alternative to the standard black, which softens their overall look while still providing an edge to the outfit.”

ZEGNA Round Acetate Glasses

“These classic Havana acetate frames from ZEGNA are the perfect match for a casual-yet-elegant outfit. Whether you’re attending a wedding or going to the office, these round blue frames will add a touch of playfulness to your daytime look. Pair with a colourful linen soft jacket and you’re all set!”

Brunello Cucinelli x Oliver Peoples Griffo Square Frame Sunglasses

“Translucent and transparent frames have continued their widespread popularity throughout the eyewear industry this season, and this warm honey acetate pair from the Brunello Cucinelli x Oliver Peoples collaboration are a perfect example of why clear frames are so coveted. This vintage inspired ‘Griffo’ style is a fun statement piece for both summer and fall looks.”

TOM FORD Brady Pilot Frame Sunglasses

“Nothing says ‘summer’ more to me than a pair of classic aviators — just think of Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Upgrade on the traditional Ray Ban style and opt for the Brady pilot frames from TOM FORD instead. This gold metal pair feature a lightweight flat-top bridge and the brand’s iconic metal T logo at the temples.”

Gucci Web Temple Square Clubmaster Frame Sunglasses

“Clubmaster sunglasses have been beloved for decades after notable names like Malcolm X popularized them along with celebrities including Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, and more recently John Hamm. One reason they’ve stuck around so long is because they can be worn by all face shapes and genders. What I love most about this pair from Gucci are the eye-catching gold web details on the temple and flex hinge.”
