When we opened our first TOM FORD shop-in-shop in 2005, we were the brand’s exclusive retailer across Canada, and our immaculately designed location offered that same signature experience.

As we celebrate our 70th year in business at Harry Rosen, we reflect on how our partnership with TOM FORD continues to help us set the standard for luxury in Canadian retail.

At the time of writing, it’s been nearly two years since Tom Ford stepped away from his world-leading luxury fashion and lifestyle brand after selling his namesake label to Estée Lauder Companies in November 2022.

Born in Austin, Texas in 1961, Ford would go on to graduate from the legendary Parsons School of Design in New York City in ‘85, and by 1990, he’d assume the role of Women’s Ready-to-Wear Designer at Gucci.

His work revitalizing the then-stalling giant of the Italian fashion label earned Ford the role of Creative Director at Gucci just four years later. In 2000, he’d also take on the role of Creative Director at Yves Saint Laurent simultaneously.

By 2004, Ford had left Gucci Group – a company he had been instrumental in growing to a $10 billion-dollar valuation – stepping away to subsequently launch the TOM FORD brand a year later.

Today, TOM FORD FASHION is part of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group through an exclusive long-term license with The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. They are the fashion business of the luxury house founded by designer Tom Ford in 2005. The luxury house personifies modern glamour and an unparalleled level of style through impeccable tailoring and craftsmanship.

Since its foundation in 2005, the TOM FORD brand has achieved superstardom in the fashion world, becoming a household name that continues to be associated with elegance and high status. Between iconic fragrances, trademark tailoring, signature eyewear lines, and more, each TOM FORD collection is expertly curated to perfection.

At Harry Rosen, our partnership with TOM FORD began in 2007 when we initially brought the brand’s Italian-made collections to our stores. The instant success of TOM FORD at Harry Rosen guided the launch of our first dedicated TOM FORD shop-in-shop, which opened at our Bloor Street Flagship in September 2008.

Across Canada we now feature Tom Ford shops in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and most recently in our cutting-edge new location at West Edmonton Mall, each of which offers a brand experience unavailable anywhere else in Canada.
