See which items from our latest release of designer new arrivals buyer Aelx Binette is most excited about here.

Date: 2022-11-23

Far in advance of every new season, our talented and passionate team of buyers spend countless hours researching and deliberating which products are going to stock the shelves of our Harry Rosen stores across Canada and our digital shop.

Now, as our latest designer collections for this Fall/Winter are becoming available to you, we wanted to touch base with Alex Binette, Divisional Merchandise Leader from our very own Buying team.

As Alex would’ve identified several of these items himself during the buy for this season, we wanted to recap with him to see which new styles he’s most excited about in particular and why.

Drawstring Stretch-Cotton Pants, Eleventy

“Although they’re traditionally more of a Spring/Summer thing, I actually love wearing white pants in the Fall/Winter season too. I think they look amazing tied back to any navy, caramel, tan, or olive piece, which are key colours for Fall dressing anyway, so of course white pants naturally work well this time of year too.”

Judas Cotton-Wool Houndstooth Overshirt, Officine Générale

“Chore jackets are still a very important item for the transitional season and Pierre of Officine Générale has always shown this extremely well in his collections. Plus, chore jackets can seamlessly replace a blazer or sport jacket in today’s modern office now. What I like about this one is the houndstooth fabric – interesting, yet still subtle and tasteful.”

Wool-Blend Ribbed Knit Turtleneck, JOOP!

“I love turtlenecks in the fall, they’re the perfect underpinning for a lot of different styles, but especially for a flannel suit or sport jacket. This white turtleneck works really well with so many of our new tailored pieces for the season too.”

Logo Spazzolato Leather Loafers, Prada

“A great chunky sole loafer is at home underneath a more relaxed-fitting trouser, which are very much on-trend this Fall/Winter. These chunky loafers from Prada are also the perfect silhouette to showcase the brand’s iconic spazzolato emblem too.”

Two-Tone Logo Wool Crew Neck Sweater, Moncler

“I can’t get enough of the two-tone style on this knit from Moncler. I really appreciate the brushed finish on the stretch virgin wool, especially on the top colour – it's really interesting!”

Everett Puffer Black Label, Canada Goose Black Label

“Like I said above, I love wearing white in the Fall/Winter. I think white puffer jackets and parkas are a very sophisticated choice, and this one from Canada Goose Black Label is fresh while still being pretty understated.”</p>
