Fall Scents
Fragrances are an expression of your personality – they help tell your story. You might want to try some of our favourites this fall.
When pondering the right perfume to purchase, fragrance guru Adam Vaughan suggests you pursue the style that best suits your personal needs. Consider him a sommelier of the nose. Having run the counter at the Bloor Street flagship for over a decade, there isn’t anybody at Harry Rosen who understands fragrances better.
“Ask yourself,” he elaborates, “do you want a fragrance for business or pleasure? For all year round? For versatility, performance or projection? Something that’s long-lasting? That’s strong or light? For day or for night?”
He recommends that every man have three fragrances in rotation: one for day-to-day, then two for special occasions and seasons. And now that autumn is fast approaching? Try pairing fall fragrances with warmer styles. “Deeper smokey notes with a sweet balance. Wood styles. Leather-based scents,” he clarifies. “Amber also makes for great projection in the fall with the right balance of sweet and spice.”
No matter the time of year, Vaughan reckons that by indulging in different notes and oils, and fully immersing yourself in the fragrance world, you are extending yourself an opportunity to exercise the palate; to transport and elevate the mind.
“FRAGRANCE IS ATTACHED TO MEMORY. ALLOW IT TO TAKE YOU ON A JOURNEY.”
