Off To The Races
We’re excited to announce that Harry Rosen has partnered with Downtown Porsche and Speedstar Automotives to be the official Lead Sponsor for the 2017 season of the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada Presented by Yokohama.
The series produces intense, exciting competition for semi-professional and aspiring professional drivers in the world’s most produced and iconic race car, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
After a winter’s wait, race fans eagerly welcomed back the series which got under way Victoria Day Weeekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario. Enthusiasm was stronger than ever as a redeveloped GT3 Cup car was welcomed to the starting grid for the first time. At the end of the race driver Tim Sanderson took his spot on top of the podium and is now gearing up for the rest of the series.
Not only is this partnership a first for Harry Rosen, we’re also the first luxury retailer to sponsor a team.
“Harry Rosen is an amazing company and I am incredibly excited to have them as a partner for this upcoming race season!,” says Downtown Porsche Dealer Principal, President and CEO, Helen Ching-Kircher. “We could not have asked for a better fit in a sponsor. I am looking forward to a successful season with them by our side!”
Keep any eye out for our distinctly branded Porsche 911 GT3 on the racetrack all summer long.
“This is a great fit for us,” says Sandra Kennedy, Chief Marketing Officer, here at Harry Rosen. “The GT3 Cup Challenge is an adrenaline-fueled property that certainly appeals to our clients and prospective ones as well.”
The new Porsche 911 GT3 cup car now houses a 4-litre, six-cylinder flat engine The compact engine with direct fuel injection delivers peak performance of 485 hp. A range of innovative details also improve efficiency in addition to engine performance, ensuring even better durability of the naturally aspirated engine in racing mode and reduced maintenance costs. A new front apron and a new rear end improve the downforce of the new 911 GT3 Cup leading to enhanced traction and performance.
Is it daily-driver friendly? Well, if you can put up with a harness and a race seat and stiff suspension and tires that are useless in the rain, then yes, you could daily drive it. We probably would!
