Fall Essentials From The Masters Of Menswear
Wondering what to put on your shopping list this fall? The experts here at Harry Rosen regularly scour the runways and showrooms from New York to Milan for the items to keep you looking your best as the weather turns cool. So, we caught up with three of our fashion insiders to find out what their must-have picks of the fall season are.
A wine coloured jacket – Jeff Farbstein, Executive Vice President
"I'm kind of in love with this wine colour,” says menswear authority Jeff Farbstein. “It’s the perfect fall colour for a jacket or outerwear piece. I like its versatility. From grey to beige to blue, you can wear it all with this rich colour. We’ve been looking at blue, blue, blue for some time now, so it’s nice to add some variation. To me, it embraces fall.”
Lightweight knits - Shannon Stewart, Assistant General Merchandise Manager
"I suggest that an investment in a knit wardrobe would be timely for fall 2016,” says lead buyer Shannon Stewart. “Lightweight knits are perfect for layering under jackets. A crewneck or turtleneck under a jacket is a modern take on sport jacket dressing, and a softer approach for a more relaxed look. It’s an easy way to add colour and texture and instantly signifies a step into the fall season.”
A peak lapel suit - Larry Rosen, CEO
“I think there’s power in a peak lapel,” says Larry Rosen. “We featured a peak lapel suit on the cover of the latest issue of Harry magazine – it looks elegant and robust. I always say that a well-tailored suit is a man’s armor. It instantly transforms him from average joe to powerful and authoritative. The peak lapel is a new but old iteration of tailored clothing that is particularly strong this fall.”
