Canada Goose Hits A Home Run With José Bautista

Harry Rosen was honoured to launch a special collaboration with Canada Goose and Canada’s homerun hitter, José Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays.

The jacket – proudly manufactured here in Canada – was designed to suit Bautista’s active lifestyle. It is notably sleek-fitting, pairing a classic silhouette with lightweight materials and soft shell side-panels to deliver warmth as well as flexibility. Fit for any jetsetter, it also has the ability to fold into a cozy travel pillow.

In paying tribute to the MLB player’s number 19, the José Bautista x Canada Goose jacket ($995) was available in a limited run of 190 units. Each jacket available at Harry Rosen was in turn individually numbered and signed at the launch event by the ball player.

More than 135 guests joined José on the rooftop of our Bloor Street flagship to celebrate the launch including Harry Rosen CEO Larry Rosen, Canada Goose CEO Dani Reis, as well as teammates such as Marcus Stroman and TSN’s Cabbie Richards.

In speaking to the crowd about his turn as a designer he said, “I went to the head office and the design studio, shared some thoughts about jackets, started sending ideas. It is putting a little bit of me into it. José flavour.” That translates as, “more of a downtown feel, versatile jacket, a little more dressed up, or not. It could be sporty or evening going out. But not exclusively for that.”

Bautista says he loves getting dressed up and putting on a suit for special occasions as the team used to be required to do when travelling. As for labels, he cites favourites such as “Dsquared2, always, and Dolce & Gabbana. There is always something in the major fashion houses, I’m not married to a single one.”

As the event wound down at 9PM we launched the e-commerce sales and shortly after 10PM we reached sell-out of this coveted coat. While that’s the end of the line for the Jose Bautista jacket, we’re already looking ahead to October when we will receive the largest shipment of the Hybridge 2.0 jacket from Canada Goose – the same body on which this jacket was based.
