FLEXIBLE WORK ATTIRE

HARRY MAGAZINE SPRING / SUMMER 2019

Where do you get your work done? These days,“the office” can be anywhere, from cafés and airport lounges to taxi cabs or your couch. There’s one advantage: your outfits can be just as flexible.

L.B.M 1911

So many designers are offering some sort of field jacket this season! L.B.M. 1911’s pure-cotton version helps explain why. The fabric is substantial enough to wear outside on a cool day. And while a half belt at the back brings in the waist for a smart silhouette, the patch pockets, thick seams and denim-like dye process keep the jacket casual.

Wings + Horns

Vancouver-based Wings + Horns started out developing fabrics for the Japanese market back in 2004. Now it also has a Canadian collection, notable for its sophisticated, clean-cut minimalism. This lightweight mac in black nylon, for example, is an elegant outer layer for spring that smartens up the most casual outfit.

Embracing the season’s emphasis on lively colours in jacket dressing, Samuelsohn offers this unlined but fully tailored sports jacket in dusty pink with a pale grey windowpane. With patch pockets and soft, natural shoulders, it looks great without trying too hard.

ZZEGNA.jpg

Z Zegna

Perfect for the man who’s always on the go, this suit from Z Zegna’s Travel Concept line is made with a pure-wool fabric that offers crease resistance and natural stretch. Its rich pattern – a geometric micro-check in navy, royal blue and white – works beautifully whether dressed up with a shirt and tie or dressed down with a knit.

Kean Etro loves pattern. The lining of this tonal cream jacquard jacket is a multi-coloured print of a bamboo forest, but since it’s hidden, we’ve replicated the dramatic visual contrast with a cotton crewneck T-shirt in a very bold, retro floral print.

EMPORIOARMANI.jpg

Emporio Armani

Emporio Armani calls this collection Light Wardrobe – a reference to the negligible weight of items like this unlined shirt-jacket, not its rich alizarin-red colour. Pair it with a dramatic zigzag- patterned knit and white denims for any summer event.
