New at Harry’s: Barbisio

We introduce you to Barbisio, specialty hatmakers from Italy and new to Harry Rosen this season.

By: Ben Kriz

Barbisio's millinery was founded in 1862, and the family-led brand continues to produce felt hats fashioned by hand using specially-sculpted moulds that have become a trademark of Italian hat design. While Barbisio has a strong foundation in old-school quality materials and finishes, it also offers modern styles alongside traditional ones.

Our Team's Take

From simple yet luxurious ball caps to the elegant wide-brimmed hats you’ll find at Harry’s this season, these hats are uniquely structured and made form the finest cashmere and cashmere-rabbit mixed felt and often made from one seamless piece. "The way the hats are constructed, they're not simply hats; they're pieces of art," explains Accessories Buyer, Renata Leung. "Up close, you can really appreciate what it takes to make such a beautiful item.”

How to Wear It

“Our selection of wide-brimmed hats can easily be worn with a relaxed tailored look as well as paired with more casual styles like overshirts or chunky sweaters,” says our Fashion Direction Manager, Andy Chitty. “Hats can be daunting, but when worn well, a felt hat can set you apart and boost your confidence. A high-quality hat from Barbisio looks even better with age, similar to a pair of leather shoes.”
