Tom Ford

Tom Ford

Tom Ford the man and Tom Ford the label – the two can not be separated. After a decade spent designing menswear for Gucci, he launched his own eponymous brand in 2007. The inspiration was classic Savile Row and Italian tailoring but seen through Ford’s North American aesthetic; a hint of the dandy, but clean-lined and masculine. That backbone of European classicism was more apparent than in his Gucci years. “The older I get, the less I care about fashion,” Ford told harry magazine. “I care more about style. I want to educate people about quality, re-educate them about tradition and what’s appropriate.”
