Made-in-Italy, Tod’s is one of the premier craftsman of shoes, boots and artisanal leather accessories, with styles that have become fixtures of modern living. It was in the 1970s that Diego Della Valle, grandson of a cobbler from central Italy, lifted the family firm to international stardom. He introduced a handmade leather moccasin called Gommino that swapped its sole for 133 rubber pebbles. It quickly became the must-have casual driving shoe of the jet set elite. Diego still masterminds Tod’s, a name he plucked from a Chicago phone book. The name is synonymous with stylish belts, dress shoes, boots, sneakers and loafers – including, of course, the immortal Gommino.
