Harry Rosen is one of the best high-end men’s clothing speciality retailers in the world. We are a proudly Canadian company with 16 stores in eight major Canadian markets, employing over 700 associates.

At the heart of it all is our personal approach to service, something that has been the guiding principle of our company since Harry Rosen and his brother Lou opened the first store in Cabbagetown, Toronto, over 60 years ago. Our role as a men’s clothing advisor is to assist and guide men towards the clothing that helps best represent them. Over time, we build a bond of trust with each client, helping him develop his personal style, advising him on additions to his wardrobe, making sure he can be confident that he is properly attired for every circumstance and occasion. Essentially, your associate acts as your personal shopper, keeping a file of your preferences and your needs. He or she can send you e-pics of new arrivals, arrange private shopping appointments and help speed up the process by assembling selections from which you can choose.

We also offer Made to Measure tailoring from a number of designer collections as well as the ultimate expression of the tailor’s art – our own Bespoke tailoring. From formal wear to jeans, sportswear to suits and sports jackets, rugged outerwear parkas to superbly hand-crafted dress shoes, we strive to dress each of our customers appropriately for the occasion.

1954$500 Down Payment
After working in a clothing factory and in a quality menswear store, Harry Rosen and his brother Lou open a small made-to-measure store on Toronto’s Parliament Street on February 4, 1954, with a $500 down payment.
1961Harry Rosen Relocates
Success allows Harry to relocate to larger premises closer to his clientele on Richmond Street in Toronto’s Financial District. With little retailing in this area, skeptics criticize the move, but the store soon becomes a destination for customers from across Toronto, Canada, and the United States.First Ad Agency
Harry establishes a relationship that lasts for 35 years with Reid Bell to develop Harry’s advertising. Reid develops the eponymous “Ask Harry”, which is still featured strongly in our Harry Rosen ads today.
1968Opens second store in Yorkdale
Opens second store in Yorkdale Shopping Centre and by 1975 Harry Rosen has opened six other stores in the Greater Toronto area
1975First store to carry Ermenegildo in Canada
Becomes one of the first stores to carry the Ermenegildo line outside of Europe.
West Edmonton Mall becomes home to the first Harry Rosen store outside of Toronto. Cross Canada growth continues over the following seven years as locations open in Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, and Winnipeg.
1987Flagship on Bloor
Harry opens a three-level, 32,000 sq. ft. flagship store on Toronto’s Bloor Street. A masterpiece of selection and presentation, the store quickly becomes known for housing one of the world’s most exclusive collections of fine menswear. That same year, The Retail Council of Canada presents Harry Rosen with its first Retail Marketer of the Year Award.
1996Award Winning Ads
Harry Rosen introduces the award-winning newspaper ad campaign featuring such celebrities as David Cronenberg, Norman Jewison, Christopher Plummer, Martin Brodeur, Rick Mercer and more.
Three years after being named President, Larry Rosen is appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Harry Rosen Inc. Larry, who holds both an MBA and a law degree from Western University, first joined Harry Rosen in 1985 after practicing law.Montreal Flagship
Harry opens a 22,000 sq. ft. Montreal flagship store at Les Cours Mont-Royal at Peel and St. Catherines.
Harry Rosen receives the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Retail Council of Canada.
2003Make a Statement
Our advertising campaign continues to feature prominent Canadian gentlemen.Vancouver Flagship
Harry Rosen relaunches an expanded 27,000 sq. ft. Vancouver flagship store in Pacific Centre, including free-standing BOSS Hugo Boss shop and Ermenegildo Zegna shops.. A gala celebration dinner raises $1 million for the Harry Rosen Lecture Theatre at Ryerson University.
2004The First 50 Years
Harry Rosen Inc. turns 50 years old on February 4, 2004. Beginning with only a small store in Toronto, today there are 16 Harry Rosen stores across CanadaThe Order of Canada
Founder Harry Rosen receives the Order of Canada in celebration of his contribution to retail and philanthropy in Canada.
MR Magazine chooses the Harry Rosen stores as the first-ever winner of the Menswear Retailer of the Year award outside the US.
2008Re-Launch of 82 Bloor Street West
Harry Rosen's flagship location in Toronto expands to 50,000 square feet with an additional two floors of retailing offering tailored clothing to intimate apparel – from around the world, including shops featuring BOSS Hugo Boss, Tom Ford, Ermenegildo Zegna, Canali, Cucinelli, Armani, Dolce and Gabbana and more.
2009E-Commerce site launch
HarryRosen.com launches online presence with the same principles that have guided our retail experience since the very beginning. Our ultimate goal is to provide online shoppers with service, knowledge, trust and immediate access to some of the very best men’s garments in the world.
Harry Rosen enlarges the West Edmonton Mall store to over 12,500 sq. ft.
2010Harry Rosen expands its downtown Calgary store
Harry Rosen expands its downtown Calgary store to a 30,500 square foot, two level flagship, offering designer apparel including Cucinelli, Zegna, Canali, Boss Hugo Boss and more.
2012Relocates its Eaton Centre store
Relocates its Eaton Centre store to a new enlarged 20,000 sq. ft. location within the mall and expands its FCP store to 20,000 sq. ft.
2013Harry Rosen is named as one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Cultures and awarded Platinum Status
Harry Rosen is named as one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Cultures and awarded Platinum Status in recognition of 7 consecutive years of being chosen as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Private companies in Canada.
In fall 2013, Harry Rosen intends to open a 32,000 flagship store in Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto and a new 10,000 sq. ft. suburban store in Carrefour Laval, Montreal.
